Job summary

Dollar General Corporation in Georgia is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of store management. You will provide exemplary customer service, maintain planograms, stock and display merchandise, operate the register, and help ensure a safe, clean, and profitable store.

You will greet customers, assist with locating items, process payments, and support opening/closing procedures. Previous supervisory exposure is preferred, with a focus on teamwork and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to the prescribed process for the store.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes following store procedures.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves; build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Order zones and drop shipments as directed by the Store Manager.
• Assist in planogram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Clean store areas and stockroom; manage cleanliness of front end.
• Greet customers and maintain register area.
• Operate cash register and scanner; bag merchandise; handle payments and change.
• Monitor cash levels and cash control procedures.
• Open and/or close the store under direction; sign for refunds/overrides as needed.
• Maintain cashier accountability and adhere to security practices.
