Job summary

Our Lady of Grace Daycare in West Babylon, New York is looking for a dedicated lead teacher for 4/5 year olds. In this role, you will be responsible for planning activities that support the children's emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development. You will also prepare lesson plans and assess children's progress.

The ideal candidate will have an associate's degree in Early Childhood or a related field and at least 2 years of experience working with children. You will ensure a safe and healthy environment while maintaining communication with parents and adhering to licensing regulations.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience relating to caring for children.

Responsibilities

• Plan long and short-range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives.
• Meet the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child.
• Encourage assistants to contribute to curriculum planning.
• Prepare monthly lesson plans and submit for director’s approval.
• Complete bi-annual assessment of children’s development.
• Report progress of children to parents.
• Maintain daily communication with parents.
• Maintain confidentiality and report any suspect child abuse.
• Arrange a classroom environment in accordance with program goals.

Education

Associate’s degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field

CDA credential (or 9 credits in a related field)
