JOB DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS:

The Office of the Physical Plant is seeking multiple Part-Time Landscapers for summer work. Responsibilities include maintaining and landscaping Penn State University Behrend grounds, as well as setting up and tearing down events.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Push mowing, trimming, leaf blowing, and raking leaves.
  2. Assisting with planting, transplanting, pruning, weeding, fertilizing, cultivating, and removing trees, flowers, and shrubs.
  3. Assisting with moving and removing athletic equipment, fences, posts, signs, etc.
  4. Painting traffic lines, benches, fences, guardrails, signposts, fire hydrants, and refuse containers.
  5. Establishing sub-grades and finishing grades for lawns and athletic areas, and laying out athletic fields.
  6. Setting up safety equipment and barriers around work zones.
  7. Assisting with event setup, teardown, and cleanup.
  8. Removing debris, leaves, grass clippings, and rubbish from various areas; removing paint and other defacements; snow and ice removal, including applying anti-skid materials.
  9. Reporting any unusual conditions to supervisors.
