Job summary

The City of Sioux Falls is seeking a part-time Landfill Scale Operator to support the Sioux Falls Regional Sanitary Landfill operations. This non-benefitted position works up to 28 hours per week, Monday through Saturday, with shifts based on landfill needs.

The role includes operating a computerized truck scale, collecting fees, balancing the cash drawer, and communicating with customers in person or by phone. Data entry, reporting, and clerical tasks are also required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with two years of customer service in a business office handling cashier duties, billing, data entry, and computer operation.
• Experience handling cash transactions and customer service work.

Responsibilities

• Operate a computerized truck scale and collect landfill fees.
• Balance cash drawer and ensure accurate cash handling.
• Communicate with customers in person and by telephone.
• Monitor incoming waste loads and perform reporting and data entry.
• Provide clerical support for landfill operations.
