Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Spanish speaking preferred.
• CLE certificate specialized in breast feeding required.
• One to two years previous experience in hospital setting preferred.
• Experience using computers for consultation documentation.
• Customer-centric verbal and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized education and support to breastfeeding mothers.
• Promote breastfeeding and facilitate change within clinical settings using evidence-based care management.
• Enter information and consults into the hospital EMR.
• Lead the breastfeeding support groups offered to inpatient new mothers.
• Participate in Maternity Tours and lead discussions on skin-to-skin and breastfeeding.
• Assist with data collection, follow-up calls, and restock supplies as needed.
