Job summary

Vizor is seeking a part-time Lab Technician to support formulation chemists in our Brooklyn R&D lab located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. You will prepare samples, run tests, record results, and help keep the lab ready for the next experiment.

Ideal candidates show initiative, curiosity, and attention to detail. A chemistry degree is preferred (or being pursued), with emphasis on careful recordkeeping and lab discipline. Snacks and meals are provided occasionally.

ABOUT US

Vizor develops specialty ingredients and sunscreen formulations for beauty and personal care brands globally. We’re looking for a part-time Lab Technician to support our formulation chemists and help run analytical tests in our Brooklyn R&D lab, located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who wants to break into the beauty and cosmetics industry. You’ll learn by doing: preparing samples, assisting with formulations, running tests, recording results, and helping keep the lab ready for the next experiment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Support the formulation chemist with sample preparation, batching, and day-to-day lab work.
• Run analytical and performance tests according to established procedures.
• Record observations and results accurately, organize data, and flag results that need a closer look.
• Repeat tests and refine your technique until the results are reliable.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, samples, and a clean, orderly workspace.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You take initiative and notice what needs doing without waiting for a detailed list of instructions. You’re intellectually curious and analytical, but also comfortable with the patience that good lab work requires. Some tasks are repetitive; you understand why doing them carefully matters.

A degree in chemistry is preferred (or currently pursuing), but we’ll also consider candidates with backgrounds in mathematics or other sciences. Strong attention to detail, sound recordkeeping, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves is more important than prior cosmetics experience.

COMPENSATION & PERKS
