Job summary

Harmonic Inc. in San Jose, CA, is seeking a computer equipment room technician for a part-time role in the LIFT computer lab. The position involves lab improvements, shipping prep, inventory, and collaboration with remote and on-site engineers.

Candidates should follow protocols, lift up to 35 lbs with help, and be comfortable on their feet with ladders. Ubuntu/CLI exposure and CATV/optical experience are a plus. This is an on-site role in San Jose.

Qualifications

Ability to follow protocols and procedures accurately.
Able to lift up to 35 lbs. with assistance of a team member.
Comfortable working on their feet, bending and climbing up/down 4’ platform ladders.
Basic computer equipment knowledge, with exposure to Ubuntu and CLI access.
Able to follow computer lab safety protocols and procedures.
Flexibility and adaptability to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
Experience in CATV Cable Modem Operations
Experience in Racking equipment in 19" 45 RU Racks
Experience in Optical configurations

Responsibilities

Assist in Lab environment improvement such as Coax cables, Fiber optics, Cat 6 wiring.
Prepare equipment for shipping.
Assist in equipment inventory and accounting.
Collaborate with remote team on equipment testing and configuration.
Collaborate with LIFT onsite engineer on troubleshooting issues.
