Job summary

The Center for National Security Initiatives (NSI) at the University of Colorado Boulder seeks a Laboratory and Research Program Coordinator to support a growing portfolio of electromagnetics, RF engineering, quantum sensing, and related national security technologies.

The role will work closely with the research lead and team to coordinate laboratory activities, organize project information and schedules, and support proposals and sponsor updates while serving as the primary liaison with NSI

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering, science, research administration, project management, business, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience coordinating university research programs and complex projects.
• Experience with sponsored research, proposal development, laboratory operations, or technical program management.
• Experience working in a university research environment.
• Experience with university administration and operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to coordinate with researchers, faculty, students, staff, and external partners.
• U.S. security clearance eligibility (required for work with national security programs).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate schedules and activities for the research laboratory and projects.
• Maintain a consolidated calendar of research activities, sponsor engagements, milestones, and deliverables.
• Coordinate meetings with researchers, sponsors, and university partners.
• Track action items and follow up with responsible team members.
• Coordinate lab access, demonstrations, visitors, equipment activities and operational needs.
• Support onboarding of students, researchers, and collaborators.
• Maintain records of project objectives, schedules, milestones, and personnel assignments.
• Assist with monitoring progress across sponsored and internal activities.
• Coordinate development schedules for proposals, reports, and project materials.
• Assemble inputs from investigators and support personnel.
• Edit, format, and produce proposal and report materials.
• Coordinate with NSI communications on external materials.
• Track status of requests and follow up with offices as needed.
• Assist with sponsor meetings and demonstrations.
