Oregon State University is seeking a part-time Lab Research Assistant in the Crop and Soil Science department. The Undergraduate Student Technical Assistant will support research activities, handle data collection, sample preparation and basic analyses in a lab, greenhouse, and field settings.

The role involves collaborating with faculty and graduate students, operating instrumentation, and assisting with reporting and website updates.

Qualifications

• Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.
• Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment.
• Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard.
• Undergraduate student: 6 credit hours per term
• Graduate student: 5 credit hours per term
• Graduate international student: 9 credit hours per term
• International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by USCIS.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with the PI, Faculty Research Assistant and graduate students on initiating research trials, observations, measurements, sample collection and data entry into spreadsheets.
• Operate research instrumentation and aid in preparing samples for analyses; assist with harvesting processes and maintaining lab procedures.
• Assist in creating and evaluating reports, updating websites and databases, and supporting student submissions with attention to detail.
• Handle materials physically, including bags or containers of potatoes up to 50 lbs.
