Job summary

Prevea Health Services, Inc. is seeking a Part-time Lab Assistant to support laboratory operations by performing phlebotomy, maintaining equipment, and processing specimens. This role reports to the lab leader and supports patient care across age groups.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in using Epic LIS, maintain accuracy under pressure, and adhere to safety and quality standards. CPR training is required, and the position is part-time with benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy operations including venipuncture on adult, neonatal and pediatric patients.
• Ability to follow lab safety protocols and quality controls.
• Proficient in data entry in Epic LIS and lab systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture per protocol and label specimens.
• Check-in patients and verify information and orders in the LIS/EPIC systems.
• Instruct patients on specimen collection requirements and collect urine specimens as needed.
• Prepare equipment, stock supplies, and maintain a clean work area for blood collection.
• Answer phones, maintain logs, create files, and manage inventory in the lab.
