Job summary

Applied Research Solutions in Dayton, OH seeks a Part-Time System Administrator to maintain Kubernetes clusters, Azure infrastructure, Artifactory, and license management to support our government projects.

You will monitor systems, assist in migration to cloud, provide technical support to engineering teams, and document configurations and processes. Prior experience with Kubernetes, Azure, and license management is preferred; background checks apply.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes orchestration, including cluster setup, scaling, and deployment.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Azure services (VMs, AKS, networking, AD).
• Experience managing Artifactory or equivalent binary repository managers.
• Experience administering Cameo Systems Modeler and FlexNet Publisher licenses.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls) and security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, manage, and maintain Kubernetes clusters with high availability.
• Troubleshoot containerized apps, networking, and storage within Kubernetes.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging for clusters.
• Administer Azure infrastructure (IaaS and PaaS) and manage VMs, storage, and security.
• Assist in migrating on-prem resources to Azure cloud.
• Manage Artifactory repository configuration and access control; license management for engineering tools.
