Job summary

SA Hospitality Group in New York City is seeking a part-time dishwasher to ensure the cleanliness and sanitization of dishes, sheet pans, pots, pans, utensils, and baking equipment through manual and machine cleaning.

You will work as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen, perform deep cleaning, organize production areas, manage waste, and support the chefs and managers to maintain high cleanliness standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to work as part of a team with personal cleanliness.
• Very basic food handling, preparation, and cleaning skills are welcomed.
• Time management and ability to work under pressure to manage high volume of production.
• Ability to communicate and understand direction in English to ensure safety in the workplace.
• Flexible schedule.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Reading and speaking comprehension skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Wash sheet pans, dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans or all equipment used for production using dishwasher machine or by hand if necessary.
• Clean garbage cans with water or steam
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition.
• Place clean pans, utensils, and cooking equipment in the assigned storage areas.
• Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
• Organize and label all produce deliveries (dairy, flour, etc.)
• Deep cleaning of equipment – ovens, floors, counters, freezers & refrigerators, etc.
• Clean and maintain grease trap (every few days as assigned and when needed)
• Clean the entire production area and other assigned areas of the bakery – to include sweeping, floor mopping and scrubbing, polishing of dust from equipment, etc.
• Perform additional cleaning tasks as assigned by manager or chef that include but are not limited to stairs, sinks, bathrooms, mirrors, toilet seats, floors, trashcans, toilet paper stand and walls.
• Manage inventory of toilet supplies.
