Job summary

Eastcastle Place is seeking a reliable Utility Worker to join our hospitality team in a part-time, non-exempt role. The position supports dishwashing, food prep, and dining services across Health Center, Independent Living Dining, and Bistro operations.

Responsibilities include washing dishes, operating dish machine, assisting cooks, stocking, and maintaining clean service areas while delivering friendly, professional service to residents and guests.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• At least one year of previous food service experience in a nursing home, assisted living, and/or elderly rehabilitation community, preferred.
• Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, understands requests.
• Ability to work independently and in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers.

Responsibilities

• Wash, sanitize, organize, and put away dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, utensils according to established standard.
• Operate the dish machine and three-compartment sink with proper temperature and sanitizer checks.
• Complete cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, garbage removal, and deep-cleaning tasks.
• Assist cooks and kitchen staff with basic food preparation as directed.
• Stock food, supplies, prep areas, serving lines, and kitchen stations; communicate low-stock items or issues to a supervisor.
