Job summary

Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) invites applications for a Part-Time Temporary Trail Point Kids Zone Caregiver at our Ankeny campus. Caregivers will create a positive, nurturing environment for children ages 3 months to 8 years in a fast-paced setting. This position requires teamwork and commitment to safety.

Hours are Monday–Friday 8:00am–12:00pm and 4:00pm–7:00pm, plus Saturday 8:00am–12:00pm and Sunday 9:00am–12:00pm. Salary is $13.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Ability to complete Universal Precautions Training Certification within 10 days of hire.
• Ability to complete Mandatory Child Abuse Reporter Training Certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to complete CPR / first aid / AED including hands on training within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with children, families and co-workers through conversation, active listening and empathy.
• Engage in play with children, sharing and encouraging their ideas.
• Follow program policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with a dedicated team, practicing effective communication and inclusivity.
• Other duties as assigned.
