Job summary

Sticky Fingers Cooking invites energetic part-time Chef Instructors in Kirkland to bring hands-on cooking classes to kids aged 3-18 at on-site locations. You’ll lead engaging, age-appropriate lessons and foster a love of healthy foods.

You will review weekly curricula, shop for fresh ingredients, and teach basic kitchen skills while emphasizing safety and teamwork. Training is provided, and reliable transportation is expected.

Qualifications

• Availability at least 2 days a week (Mon–Fri, 2–5pm).
• Commitment to teaching full sessions (4–12 weeks).
• Washington Food Worker Card (can obtain before teaching).
• Ability to manage and engage a group of 8–14 children with diverse backgrounds and academic levels.
• Fingerprint background check required on hire.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to communicate with our team in a timely manner.
• Punctual and reliable.
• No professional cooking experience required.
• Experience working with kids is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead hour-long healthy cooking enrichment classes on-site at different locations.
• Review weekly class curricula and shop for fresh ingredients.
• Teach basic kitchen skills including washing, cutting, grating, stirring, measuring, nutrition, and safety; include history, geography, and language behind each recipe.
• Kids learn in a dynamic hands-on environment with direction and encouragement to try new recipes.
• Teach kids healthy food habits for lifelong wellness.
