Job summary

Westbrook Animal Hospital is seeking a dependable Kennel Assistant to join our hands-on animal care team. The role involves cleaning, feeding, and basic care for dogs, cats, and some exotic pets, with emphasis on safety and compassion.

This part-time position offers opportunities for mentorship, growth, and a supportive team environment, with shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience with animal care and cleaning duties.
• Ability to follow care instructions and safety protocols.
• Willingness to rotate evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, floors, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain a clean environment for patients and boarding guests.
• Prepare meals and feed pets according to care instructions.
• Administer medications as directed.
• Wash dishes, litter pans, bedding, and other supplies.
• Complete laundry and assist with baths and grooming as needed.
• Observe pets for changes and communicate concerns to veterinary team.
