Job summary

College Advising Prep (CAP) seeks a part-time K-8 Math or ELA teacher with credentialing or relevant experience. The role involves teaching in-person and online during after-school hours, plus off-site SLC leadership at local schools and optional extra hours.

You should have at least two years of K-8 teaching experience, a BA/BS in a relevant field (master’s preferred), and a California credential or eligibility. Hybrid scheduling and a collaborative environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience teaching K-8 Math or ELA.
• B.A./B.S. in a relevant field; master’s preferred.
• California teaching permit or eligibility is preferred.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for learners at all levels.
• Willingness to lead a small SLC off-site.

Responsibilities

• Create curriculum and lesson plans that meet the needs of the students.
• Teach engaging, rigorous, and relevant lessons daily.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and the founder.
• Be open to constructive criticism and feedback on teaching methodologies.
• Assume a high level of personal responsibility for the students.
• Assume a high level of personal responsibility for the progress of all students.
• Respond to the needs of the families and students.
• Implement developmentally appropriate activities for the age group.
