No heavy parent interaction required and you’ll work with Sylvan’s proven curriculum. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Education or related field with teaching certification or relevant K-12 experience, strong communication, and a passion for differentiated instruction and student assessment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education preferred.
• Teaching certification or relevant experience in K-12 education.
• Strong understanding of English and Math curriculum standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Passion for teaching and helping students succeed academically.
• Experience with differentiated instruction and student assessment.
• Positive attitude and a commitment to fostering a love of learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, personalized instruction in English and Math for K-12 students.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to center staff to tailor individual learning plans.
• Create a positive and motivating learning environment.
• Utilize Sylvan's proprietary curriculum and teaching methods.
• Use praise and encouragement to ensure students are engaged and inspired to learn.
• Motivate students with Sylvan tokens given for specific achievements according to the Sylvan instructional management standards.
• Record and track tokens earned by students.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance teaching skills and methodologies.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom setting.
• Support students in building confidence and academic skills.
