Job summary

Travis County Juvenile Probation Department (TCJPD) is hiring part-time temporary Juvenile Residential Treatment Officer Assistants to support Residential Treatment Officers in supervised programs for post-adjudicated youths.

The role involves assisting with supervision, treatment interventions, and activities in the Girls Secure Program and Youthful Offender Program, with shifts including mornings, afternoons, and nights.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Certification as a Juvenile Detention Officer or eligible within six months of hire, including CPR, First Aid and Handle with Care.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of all client daily activities.
• Assess juveniles and implement treatment plans and disciplinary strategies.
• Document clients' behavior in the information system.
• Maintain safe and clean environment; assist in maintaining order and discipline.
• Assist in restraining aggressive clients using approved protocols.
• Transport clients to other facilities as required.
• Maintain communication with staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Assist in individual and crisis intervention counseling as required.
• Assist in cognitive skill groups and teamwork activities.
• Investigate incidents involving clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
