Job summary

Eurofins Scientific is seeking a part-time laboratory assistant to support the water chemistry department, performing sample preparation, standards, reagents, data entry, and maintenance in a UKAS/ISO 17025 compliant environment.

Shifts available: Pattern 1 and Pattern 2 as listed. A degree in Chemistry or Environmental Chemistry and some water testing experience are preferred; Eurofins offers a pension plan, life assurance, healthcare, and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry/Environmental Chemistry or closely related subject is essential.
• Experience working in water testing would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare standards and reagents according to established protocols.
• Perform sample preparation and conduct chemical analysis using a variety of techniques, apparatus, and instrumentation.
• Accurately enter data into the laboratory database, ensuring consistency and reliability.
• Maintain precise record-keeping in line with the UKAS quality system requirements.
• Record and manage sample details upon receipt at the laboratory.
• Ensure all records meet the requirements for UKAS/ISO 17025 accreditation.
• Assist with general laboratory housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe working environment

This is a part time, permanent position, shifts could be either of the following:

Shift Pattern 1: Monday & Tuesday 08:00 - 16:00 & Wednesday 09:00 - 11:45.

Shift Pattern 2: Wednesday 12:15 - 16:00, Thursday & Friday 08:00 - 16:00.
