Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Sacramento Valley and Northern Nevada, Inc. is seeking a part-time Job Coach to support adults with disabilities to gain employment in the community.

You will supervise participants in integrated settings, uphold the organization’s mission, and collaborate with employers and service providers. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, two years of experience with people with disabilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail/production environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years’ experience working with people with disabilities required.
• Associate’s Degree in social services, rehabilitation, special education, or related field preferred.
• Demonstrate personal effectiveness through strong communication, professionalism, problem-solving, teaching, and time-management skills.
• Working knowledge of local community information, resources, employers, and self-sufficiency supports.
• Familiarity with person-centered service coordination and positive behavior interventions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and database systems.
• Excellent customer service, strong interpersonal skills, and exhibits a high level of integrity and ethics.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and report accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality related to personally identifiable information.
• Ability to react under pressure, use good judgment in ambiguous situations, and be flexible/adaptable.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Must be 21 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States; pass drug and background screening.
• Must have access to reliable transportation.
• Does not exhibit behavior that indicates ongoing tendency toward theft or dishonesty.
• Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants in accessing workforce development and related services to support self-sufficiency.
• Develop individualized service plans focused on self-determined goals.
• Provide training on workplace skills for community-based job placement, retention, and advancement.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to regulatory standards for participant data.
• Coach participants toward goals using active listening and accountability.
• Facilitate reasonable accommodations and integration support in community sites.
• Document attendance, progress, and case notes daily.
• Collaborate with employers and service providers to create community opportunities.
• Liaise with participant support teams and maintain relationships.
• Ensure compliance with laws, policies, CARF standards, and safety regulations.
