Hours vary by class schedules; instructors may teach up to eight contact hours per week or 120 contact hours per semester. A Masters degree in Japanese or related credentials are required, with strong emphasis on technology use and AI tools for teaching.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Japanese language or culture, or Master’s degree with 18 graduate credits in Japanese.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an environment conducive to student learning.
• Prepare for and instruct assigned course(s) using appropriate learning experiences and materials to meet course objectives.
• Adhere to course syllabus and assess student achievement.
• Evaluate student progress through exams and day-to-day assessments.
• Grade assignments and return feedback promptly, and assign final grades on time.
• Support student success through guidance and advising as needed.
• Participate in professional activities such as curriculum planning and program evaluation.
• Engage in SOQ processes and maintain professional knowledge and ethics in using technology.
