Job summary

Lone Star College Online seeks adjunct faculty to teach Computer Information Technology courses on a part-time, semester-by-semester basis. Instructors will offer day, evening, and weekend classes at varied locations as needed by the program.

Adjunct faculty are hired year‑round to meet student demand and may teach up to five classes per academic year, with responsibilities including lesson design, student advising, and timely grading.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in computer science or a related field, or an MBA with 18 hours of relevant technical coursework.
• Demonstrated ability to teach Computer Information Technology courses and manage diverse student needs.
• Commitment to academic excellence and student success in a part‑time adjunct role.

Responsibilities

• Teaches Computer Information Technology courses at various times and locations.
• Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
• Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
• Utilizes a course syllabus and follows established institutional guidelines.
• Meets with and advises students before/after class or by appointment.
• Evaluates students and informs them of progress in a timely manner.
• Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
• Attends meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
• Performs other reasonable duties as assigned.
