Job summary

A college institution is seeking a part-time student assistant for ITS Helpdesk support located in Cartersville. The position involves providing front-line support for faculty, staff, and students via phone, email, and in-person assistance. Candidates must be currently enrolled at Georgia Highlands College and meet specific academic and financial criteria. This is a great opportunity for students to develop their technical skills while continuing their education. The proposed salary is $12.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Provides frontline telephone, email, web, remote and in‑person client and technical support to faculty, staff, and students.
• Creates tickets in ITS Ticketing system for helpdesk resolution and tracking.
• Assists Client Technology Specialists with providing services to end‑users.
• Assists with projects within the Information Technology Services Division.
• Performs related duties.

Skills

Excellent customer service skills

Knowledge of information technology systems and internal controls

Knowledge of information technology best practices

Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions

Skill in oral and written communication

Education

Currently enrolled at Georgia Highlands College

Pell Grant eligible (FAFSA)

Making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
