JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Harrisburg is accepting applications for a part-time Assistant Intramural Sports Coordinator with the Office of Recreation and Aquatics. During the months of August through April, the individual will assist in the coordination and administration of the Intramural Sports program under the supervision of the Intramural & Club Sports Coordinator. This position requires a flexible schedule including evenings, Monday – Thursday from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., and presence during all scheduled competitions.

Job Duties
  • Ensure safe and fair play of all IM games and keep games on schedule.
  • Supervise equipment use and storage, and organize game day setups and field space.
  • Revise rules of play as needed.
  • Facilitate referee training and captain meetings.
  • Manage data and communication via IMLeagues.com software.
  • Supervise student intramural employees.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Familiarity with tournament styles (brackets/round robins) and game scheduling is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Relevant professional experience strongly recommended.
  • Knowledge of team sports rules, excellent time management, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team. CPR/AED/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it is required.
