Job summary

The Centers, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Intramural Official to uphold safe, fair, and enjoyable intramural competition by applying sport rules, managing game flow, and communicating decisions clearly.

You will train, complete required documentation, assist with setup and teardown, and remain neutral and professional with participants, staff, and spectators. Evening and weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to learn, interpret, and apply assigned sport rules and officiating mechanics.
• Ability to communicate decisions clearly and manage conflict professionally.
• Ability to remain attentive and make timely decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to complete required sport-specific training before officiating independently.

Responsibilities

• Officiates assigned intramural contests in accordance with program rules, mechanics, and sportsmanship standards.
• Arrives prepared and on time and completes required pregame checks.
• Applies rules and penalties consistently and communicates calls clearly.
• Maintains positioning, awareness, and game control throughout each contest.
• Promotes participant safety and stops play when risk is present.
• Reports injuries, misconduct, and unusual situations to the supervisor.
