Chadwick School seeks a talented Instrumental Music Teaching Assistant to support grades 4–12 under the lead teacher. The role emphasizes collaboration in rehearsals, coaching, concert prep, and student engagement within a thriving arts program.

The ideal candidate will have strong musicianship, a bachelor’s degree in music or related field, and experience with young students. This part-time position offers a regular daytime schedule with occasional evening events.

Qualifications

• Strong musicianship and proficiency on multiple instruments are required.
• A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in music, music education, or a related field.
• Experience teaching or leading instrumental music instruction with elementary-aged children is strongly encouraged.
• A warm, patient, and engaging presence with young students is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead instrumental music teacher during rehearsals, sectionals, and concert preparation for grades 4–12.
• Assist with classroom management and address individual student needs, including tuning instruments and replacing accessories.
• Lead individual, sectional, and full ensemble rehearsals as needed.
• Foster an inclusive environment that encourages student participation and love of music.
• Maintain instrument inventory, manage materials, and communicate with families, students, and staff.
