Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Sterile Processing Technician to support Union/Anson sites in a multi-facility environment. The role focuses on maintaining safety standards, performing sterilization, and ensuring instrument readiness for procedures.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma and certification (CSPDT or CRCST) with experience in high-level disinfection and instrument handling. Flexible scheduling and benefits make this a strong healthcare support position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT) or CRCST required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety standards.
• Identifies, responds & reports malfunctions and/or alarms.
• Performs efficacy and quality testing for processes and equipment.
• Identifies cleaning per IFU for general, laparoscopic, orthopedic, neuro, cardiovascular, power instrumentation.
• Performs flexible scope processing using High Level Disinfection (HLD).
• Determines, prepares, and uses supplies required in the assembly process.
• Identifies, inspects, assembles general & specialty instruments for cleanliness and functionality.
• Packages and labels instrumentation following standards.
• Verifies sterilization equipment function and documents processes.
• Performs steam and gas/EO sterilization as required.
