The Division of Continuing Education (DCE) is a self-supporting unit within the University of California. Funding is generated through fees collected from a diverse, complex, and ever-changing student population. Part-time instructor positions are on a course-by-course contracted basis. This is NOT a faculty position.
The Preliminary Administrative Services Credential Program invites applications for instructors to teach courses to prepare students to demonstrate mastery of the California Administrator Performance Expectations. For more details, visit our program overview.
Course topics include:
Specific instructor duties include developing syllabi, preparing and delivering online course materials, utilizing Canvas LMS, evaluating student achievement, responding to student inquiries, participating in orientations, and maintaining current knowledge in the field.
This is a part-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis. We accept applications year-round for our instructor pool, with needs as they arise. We are specifically seeking instructors qualified to teach courses starting as early as the upcoming quarter.
Basic: Master's Degree from an accredited institution, valid California Administrative Services Credential, five years K-12 administrative experience in California, knowledge of CAPE.
Additional: Proficiency in subject area, commitment to academic standards, effective communication, interpersonal skills, experience with adult learners, familiarity with CalAPA, and online teaching experience are preferred.
