Job summary

Nevada System of Higher Education invites applications for part-time Political Science instructors to teach courses on-ground with possible online instruction. The courses include PSC 101 and a Nevada Constitution and Politics component, typically four credits per course.

Assignments may span multiple Clark County campuses with day, evening, or weekend schedules, and enthusiasm for facilitating student success is essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in political science (Ph.D. preferred) from a regionally accredited college or university with at least 18 graduate credits in the subject being taught.

CSN is seeking part-time instructors to teach Political Science courses, primarily in an on-ground format, with potential opportunities for online instruction. Teaching assignments will include Introduction to American Politics (PSC 101), a four-credit course that includes a Nevada Constitution and Politics component.

• Teach college-level courses in the field.
• Develop syllabi and course materials.
• Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
• Provide an excellent teaching experience as well as student advisement, recruitment activities and program/curriculum development.
• Teach at multiple campuses in Clark County.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in political science (Ph.D. preferred) from a regionally accredited college or university with at least 18 graduate credits in the subject being taught (also from a regionally accredited college or university).

Salary

$925.00 per instructional unit. Credits will vary by semester.
