Position Title Part-Time Instructor, Occupational Therapy Assistant Program (Pediatric Focus)
Purpose, Scope & Dimension of Job: Faculty facilitate student learning and participate in efforts to improve student success. As learning facilitators, faculty assess learning outcomes and their own teaching effectiveness. As professionals, faculty adhere to ethical standards (e.g., NEA, State of Michigan) and maintain licensure/certifications where applicable. Key responsibilities include collegial responsibilities, active participation in the College’s operational success, communication, and safety.
Faculty member will be responsible for teaching lecture and/or laboratory portions of pediatric interventions and other courses in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program, adhering to the stated course objectives, content and delivery as part of the approved program curriculum.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Unique Aspects of Job: Fast-paced environment with multicultural students. For clinical requirements, incumbents must maintain health records, immunizations, annual TB testing, and CPR/BCLS certifications.
Physical Requirements: Ability to move and be mobile around campus; read, analyze, and interpret needs; use computer programs; present information; tolerate exposure to chemicals and wear PPE as required.
Faculty are required to be available as outlined in the faculty CBA and will make additional provisions for student consultations as necessary and reasonable.
Must be available to teach onsite; opportunities do not exist to teach online courses only.
