Job summary

Northeastern Middle School in the Northeastern Wayne School Corporation is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support students during the 2026-2027 school year. The position is approximately 29.5 hours per week, assisting the classroom teacher, and providing small-group or individual support.

Duties include following directions, aiding with independent study, enrichment, and remedial work, helping with classroom discipline, and assisting with basic first aid.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties assigned by the professional staff and building administrator.
• Work with students individually and in small groups and occasionally with the entire classroom.
• Guide and direct students through independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work.
• Share in the responsibility of carrying out classroom discipline.
• Create and gather materials for specific projects or specific learning activities under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Perform general duties appropriate to the particular class as directed by the professional staff.
• Assist with first aid care of students.
