Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 60 college credits or passing ParaPro Assessment within last 10 years.
• Previous experience working with students preferred.
• Ability to work harmoniously with staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assists teacher in devising strategies to reinforce material based on student needs.
• Operates and cares for classroom equipment used for instructional purposes.
• Distributes and collects workbooks, papers and other materials.
• Guides independent study, enrichment, and remedial work as assigned.
• Supervises students during drills, assemblies, lunch, and field trips.
• Maintains confidentiality of student information.
• Participates in inservice training as assigned.
• Alerts the regular teacher to problems or information about students.
• Serves as information source for substitutes.
• Assists with lunch, snack and cleanup routines.
• Performs clerical tasks and other duties as required by supervisor.
