Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach courses on a part-time, per-semester basis. The role involves creating a learning environment, delivering instruction according to provided syllabi, and maintaining attendance and grading records.

Responsibilities include student access outside class time, addressing concerns, and coordinating with program coordinators. Applicants must meet one of several credential routes and bring related experience.

Qualifications

• A qualified adjunct faculty member and a full-time faculty teaching outside their discipline, meets the technical course standard through one of four routes.
• Possesses a Department of Labor, Bureau for Apprenticeship Training journeyman’s card in the discipline related to credentials, certifications, and competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR).
• Possesses any specialized certifications or credentials required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR).
• 5 years directly related work experience in the field that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR).
• Possesses a current Workplace Specialist License, Technology Education License (Technology and Engineering Education), or CTE: Trade & Industrial Engineer or Manufacturing License granted by the Indiana Department of Education appropriate to course objectives.

Responsibilities

• Create learning environment to help students reach goals and provide effective instruction and assessment within common syllabi.
• Meet all scheduled classes and provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught.
• Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy.
• Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions and assist with concerns.
