Job summary

Residential Services, Inc. (RSI) is hiring a part-time Independent Living Skills Worker (IHSW) for our Westbrook Apartments program in Brookston, MN. The role focuses on helping adults with disabilities and mental illness achieve greater independence in a supportive setting.

The position offers part-time hours with a flexible schedule, a chance to work in a unique farm-style environment, and opportunities for training and advancement within RSI’s Westbrook program.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license with no restrictions and a working vehicle.
• Two-year degree in a behavioral science or related field preferred.
• One year of experience with individuals with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help adults living in private home settings achieve maximum independence.
• Provide skill training and supports to perform everyday tasks.
• Collaborate with the person and support team to implement support plans.
• Assist with physical and personal needs.
• Support communication and household management.
• Promote community living and mobility.
• Assist in reducing maladaptive behavior.
• Support sensory/motor development and socialization.
• Foster vocational and educational growth and overall health and wellness.
