Overview

Trellis Services is hiring one-on-one instructors to work with children and adolescents (ages 10 to 21) with autism in their homes and in the community on non-academic life skill goals. This part-time position (8 to 30 hours per week - afternoons, evenings, and weekends) is ideal for someone who wants to make a difference in the life of a child! Flexible hours and great pay ($19/hr)! Great entry-level position and resume builder for someone looking to start their career in Special Education!

Responsibilities

As a Trellis autism instructor, you will work under the supervision of one of our experienced Case Managers and gain experience using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.

• Provide one-on-one support with community independence, daily living, and recreation/leisure - all non-academic life skill goals
• Flexible schedules; afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts
• Opportunities available throughout Maryland including Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard, and Talbot counties
• Ability to advance into other roles at Trellis
• Great foundation for a career in special education and related fields
• Above minimum wage starting pay rate

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Meet the minimum age requirement of 18
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• Minimum 100 hours working/volunteer/personal experience with individuals with developmental delays
• The ability to pass a background check.
• Reliable transportation/Valid Driver's License/Current Auto Insurance

Physical requirements vary and are based on specific client assignments. You may be asked to engage in any of the following: push, pull, lift up to 35 pounds, and move quickly, according to client needs. It is necessary to be able to sit on the floor, stoop, stand, walk, and run.
