Job description
Overview

Part-Time Immigration Attorney - Issue Spotter job at Raleigh Immigration Law Firm. Remote.

Have you spent years in the trenches of immigration law and are frankly sick of dealing with USCIS, IJs, TAs, the BIA, the circuit courts, the politics, and the backlogs? You'd also love to ditch the commute, suits, and clients. But other than that, you love immigration law! Removal, family, and humanitarian immigration law firm seeks an extremely knowledgeable attorney to analyze intakes and explain options. (Client contact is limited to the initial call.) This position is very PT and has a flexible schedule. It\'s likely a good fit for a solo, but could also work for a FT associate that wants to pick up some work in the evenings or weekends. (We pay 1.5x for evenings and weekends.)

Responsibilities
  • Review intakes to spot any/all options for relief.
  • Give rough estimates of the chances of success for each option.
  • Provide your professional recommendation for the next course of action.
  • Explain your recommendation in layman\'s terms.
  • Communicate with clients in a friendly, accurate way, following the firm\'s communication policies.
Qualifications
  • Native or near-native Spanish fluency. (Sorry, this isn’t negotiable).
  • Solid ability to issue spots for all types of removal, family, and humanitarian immigration cases, and ability to quickly research to verify eligibility.
  • Remain up-to-date on changes in immigration law and policy.
