Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced CAT Engineer to design, develop, and test the Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS). You will collaborate with instrument, electrical, mechanical, and process engineers to capture all control and safety requirements and interfaces.

You will lead automation work on large-scale ICSS projects, supervise engineers, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (Control Systems or Process Control) or equivalent experience.
• A Texas or other state PE license is desirable.
• TUV FS Eng or CFSP / CFSE certification is desirable.
• Proven initiative, leadership, discretion, and judgment.
• Ability to work under changing priorities and deadlines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of automation work for control systems discipline on a project.
• Provides oversight of the ICSS within the project team.
• Designs ICSS scope including large-scale DCS, SIS, FGS, and process control networks.
• Develops system requisitions and conducts technical bid evaluations for ICSS.
• Maintains interface with project personnel and management to ensure ICSS aligns with Bechtel practices.
