Job summary

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring part-time Scoopers at our Union Station shop in Washington, DC. We’re seeking self-starters with strong people skills and a passion for ice cream to deliver our hospitality and high standards in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, scooping items, educating customers on flavors, handling the POS system, and maintaining cleanliness and safety. Availability for at least three shifts, including late nights, is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Genuine passion for ice cream and desserts.
• Stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet every guest warmly, with enthusiasm and genuine hospitality
• Scoop and serve guests items while maintaining quality and presentation
• Educate guests on flavors, ingredients and special offerings
• Prepare all fresh, house made menu items daily
• Operate Square POS System for checkout
• Follow food safety procedures and sanitation guidelines
• Maintain store cleanliness and complete daily tasks (stocking, inventory, cleaning)
• Follow safety, grooming, and conduct standards
