Blinn College District invites applications for a Part Time Instructor - HVAC at the Waller Campus. This role delivers daytime and evening classes within the HVAC program and related courses as needed.

The instructor provides lectures and hands-on instruction, develops assessments, and keeps current with HVAC trends. Strong communication and safety in the shop are essential, with responsibilities spanning recruitment and student preparation for employment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in HVAC/R or related field with 3 years non-teaching experience, or degree in another field with 5 years non-teaching experience.
• Must hold NCCER teacher certification or be able to complete within 30 days of employment.
• EPA certification is required.
• Knowledge and experience with HVAC industry tools.
• Current knowledge of HVAC trends and practices.

Responsibilities

• Provides lectures and hands-on instruction in HVAC coursework.
• Follows published class schedules and covers all course competencies.
• Develops, grades, and administers quizzes and exams; facilitates hands-on practicums.
• Maintains current knowledge of instructional methods and HVAC practices.
• Manages classroom activities and enforces standards and regulations.
• Recruits students for job opportunities and prepares them for interviews.
• Provides feedback to the Program Manager on course progress and improvements.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned.
