• Maintains supplies in restrooms and bathrooms.
• Follow Infection Control Policy and Procedures.
• Dusts personal belongings and thoroughly cleans residents' beds.
• Completes discharge cleaning as assigned.
• Complies with safety policies and procedures.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Housekeeping Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• 1. Primarily responsible for the general cleaningof public areas, residents' rooms, and offices. Public areas are defined aslobbies, nursing stations, medicine rooms, consultation rooms, bathing rooms,public restrooms, corridors, elevators and stairwells.
• 2. Dusts and polishes all surfaces, including highand horizontal surfaces, furniture and accessories in public areas andresidents' rooms.
• 3. Spot cleans carpets, walls, doors, and otherpainted surfaces in public areas and residents' rooms.
• 4. Cleans and sanitizes public restrooms andresidents' bathrooms.
• 5. Maintains supplies in public restrooms andresidents' bathrooms.
• 6. Follows Infection Control Policy and Procedures
• 7. Dusts personal belongings in place (pictureframes, knick-knacks, etc.).
• 8. Thoroughly cleans residents' beds as assigned.
• 9. Empties and cleans trash cans, replaces liners.
• 10. Dry mops, wet mops and vacuums.
• 11. Completes discharge cleaning as assigned.
• 12. Complies with Precautions Policy and Procedures.
• 13. Any other additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISES:

EXPERIENCE:

• Six months practical experience.

EDUCATION:

• High School diploma or equivalent or six monthspractical experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Eighty-five to ninety percent of shift is spentwalking, bending, stretching, unassisted lifting -up to 25 pounds daily.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have friendly, helpful attitude. Must besincere, pleasant and hospitable to residents, staff and visitors. Basicreading skills required and/or must be able to identify, read and understandproduct labels, instructions and safety materials and follow written schedulesas assigned. Complies with OSHA and all other Federal, State, and Localregulations applicable to this position.
• A valid state of residence driver's license isrequired.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Conditions may occasionally be uncomfortable dueto warm and cold temperatures or unpleasant conditions in public restrooms,residents' bathrooms, interactions with older adults with varying levels of ability. Possible exposure to chemicals rated on Material Safety Data Sheets.
