Job description

The Society of the Transfiguration is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Housekeeper to join our caring and close-knit community. This position offers approximately 20 hours per week, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys meaningful work with a flexible schedule.

As a Housekeeper, you'll play an important role in supporting that mission by helping to maintain clean, welcoming, and peaceful spaces for all who live, work, and visit here.

Position Summary

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness, order, and sanitation in shared and private areas across multiple buildings. Ensures a welcoming and hygienic environment by performing thorough cleaning of common areas, bedrooms, kitchens, dining rooms, bathrooms, porches, and offices. Assigned locations include TSC, Beth-Anna, and the cottages (Simplicitas, Hilaritas, Mary, and Martha).

Reporting Structure

The Housekeeper reports to the Lead Housekeeper and the Manager / Director of Housekeeping, following the established chain of command. In addition, Housekeepers are expected to respond promptly and respectfully to direct requests from the Sisters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete daily cleaning tasks as outlined in the assigned Job Task List, ensuring all areas meet cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels of cleaning supplies and promptly notify the supervisor when items need to be replenished.
• Follow established disinfecting protocols throughout all buildings and grounds.
• Remake beds and replace linens in bedrooms and guest rooms, ensuring proper presentation and comfort.
• Clean and remove dishes from common areas and guest rooms; wash and return them to designated areas.
• Launder bed covers and small blankets as needed to maintain hygiene and comfort.
• Assist with scheduled meeting room setups as requested.
• Immediately report any safety concerns to the Lead or Director of Housekeeping.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, such as returning laundry carts by 2 : 00 PM if not already emptied.

• Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English effectively.
• Access to reliable transportation; valid driver's license in good standing and consistent access to a personal vehicle.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma preferred.
• Minimum of one year of housekeeping experience preferred.
