Job summary

The Part-Time Pharmacist position at CPS, part of the Optum family, delivers essential medication management and clinical pharmacy services for hospitalized patients. You will review and verify orders, optimize therapy, and support the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe, effective medication use across the care continuum.

Located at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan, OH, this role offers up to 35 hours per week with flexible scheduling on weekdays and Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy or equivalent degree.
• Active Ohio pharmacist license in good standing, or eligibility by start date.
• 3+ months hospital pharmacy experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and dispense medication orders to ensure safety and accuracy.
• Provide clinical pharmacy services including medication therapy management and dosing monitoring.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and care teams to optimize regimens for hospitalized patients.
• Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding in compliance with USP and hospital standards.
• Monitor patient outcomes and medication safety, preventing adverse drug events.
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and interns to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance (Joint Commission, state and federal).
