Purposelink Recruitment is seeking a compassionate Hospice Medical Director for a part-time role in Richmond, VA. You will provide medical oversight for a growing hospice program, guide interdisciplinary teams, and ensure compassionate, patient-centered end-of-life care across the service area.

The ideal candidate is board-certified or board-eligible, brings hospice experience, and demonstrates strong communication, leadership, and collaboration with the IDT.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree (MD or DO) required.
• Board-certified or board-eligible physician.
• Hospice experience required.
• Strong communication and collaboration with IDT.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical oversight for hospice patients across the service area.
• Offer clinical leadership to hospice teams, nurses, and staff.
• Complete and maintain hospice certifications and documentation.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (IDT).
• Lead symptom management and care planning.
• Serve as physician consultant for complex cases.
• Engage in community education, outreach, and physician engagement.
• Ensure compliance with hospice regulations and best practices.
