Job summary

Providence Hospice, a Providence Life Services community, seeks a Chaplain to provide spiritual and emotional care to patients, families, and staff in Indiana and Illinois. This part-time role requires evening and weekend hours and travel to patient locations within the community.

Mileage is reimbursed. The ideal candidate has a theology degree, minimum five years in pastoral ministry, and healthcare experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited seminary or theology school.
Minimum of 1 year experience in a health care setting, hospice preferred.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in pastoral ministry.
Familiarity with Microsoft programs and comfortable entering information into the medical chart (MAR).
Pass a physical, drug screen, background check, and reference check.
Valid driver’s license with good driving record and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Deliver person-centered spiritual, religious, and emotional care to patients, families, and staff.
Triages and manages multiple priorities/requests.
Provide bereavement services including calls, visits, and attendance at memorial services.
Document and submit records of pastoral activities per regulations and medical records requirements.
Adhere to deadlines for documentation and support the organization’s mission.
Participate in IDT meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary staff.
