Job summary

Visiting Angels Midtown is seeking a Part Time Home Care Aide (HCA) to support clients across Davis, Sacramento and surrounding areas. Part-time shifts with competitive wages starting at $19.00–$21.00 per hour, and opportunities for training are available.

You will assist with personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, mobility support, and companionship while following each client’s care plan and safety standards to enhance quality of life.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old and able to work legally in the US.
• Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 with shot record.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess a Valid Driver's License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to use to transport clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
• Excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at once.
• Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care.
• Able to perform housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to dietary constraints.
• Willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check).
• Bring compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client to the table.
• Must be able to use a smartphone for electronic visit verification (EVV) and caregiver notes.
• Ability to pass extensive background checks, including Live Scan fingerprinting.
• Have a negative TB screening within the last 90 days.
• Registered on the California Home Care Aide Registry.

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks.
• Planning and preparing meals with clients.
• Handling light housekeeping duties.
• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents.
• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompanying and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands.
