Job summary

Old Dominion University’s History Department invites applications for part-time Adjunct instructional faculty teaching 100-level General Education history courses on campus in Norfolk, VA. Selected candidates will be hired into an adjunct pool to fill courses as needed, typically daytime on-campus from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Minimum qualifications: M.A.

or Ph.D. in History or related field with at least 18 graduate history credits; experience teaching introductory college history surveys.

Qualifications

• MA or PhD in History or closely related field with minimum 18 graduate credit hours in history.
• Experience teaching 100-level survey courses at college level.
• Ability to teach daytime on-campus courses in Norfolk, VA.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach 100-level history survey sections.
• Provide assessments and feedback to students.
• Maintain on-campus schedule 8:00 AM–3:00 PM when teaching.
