About the Department

The Social Sciences Department at Perimeter College is a dynamic, multidisciplinary community dedicated to bringing learning to life. The department offers courses in a wide range of fields, including History, Political Science, African-American Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Education, Social Work, Gerontology, Anthropology, Homeland Security & Emergency Management, and Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Studies. Whether examining human behavior, political systems, social institutions, or cultural identities, these courses provide the knowledge and critical thinking skills needed to understand the world and make informed decisions. Many Social Sciences students go on to earn bachelor's and advanced degrees and pursue careers in law, business, education, journalism, criminal justice, and public service.
