Job summary

City Colleges of Chicago is seeking a Healthy Market Food Pantry Worker - Part Time at Malcolm X College's Wellness Center in Chicago, IL. You will support food pantry operations, stock shelves, receive deliveries, and assist with distribution to students and the community.

Responsibilities include maintaining inventory records, preparing orders for the Greater Chicago Food Depository, and guiding student workers. A Food Handler certification and strong customer service are required or pursued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (HiSET or GED).
• Must obtain a Food Services Sanitation Manager Certificate within 60 days of hire.
• Good customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Desirable: experience in food pantry or clerical work.

Responsibilities

• Stock and organize food pantry with packaged, refrigerated items and produce.
• Receive deliveries from GCFD and move items to pantry storage.
• Maintain inventory records and prepare orders for re-stock.
• Assist in distribution events and guide student workers and volunteers.
• Register participants and ensure confidentiality of information.
• Ensure food safety standards and lift up to 30 lbs as needed.
