Job summary

Penn State University Park is seeking a part-time Research Assistant in Health Services Research to join a NIOSH-funded project on Total Worker Health adoption in nursing homes. The role involves quantitative analyses (Stata/R), qualitative coding, and manuscript preparation, with opportunities to contribute to grant proposals and dissemination for academic and nursing home audiences.

This 50% FTE position is located on campus at Penn State University Park, funded through 8/31/2027, and offers

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Health Policy, Health Services Research, Public Health, Gerontology, Health Economics, or closely related field (in progress or earned).
Experience with statistical programming and quantitative data analysis (Stata strongly preferred; R acceptable).
Strong written communication with peer-reviewed manuscripts experience.
Experience conducting literature reviews.

Responsibilities

Conduct quantitative statistical analyses of survey and Medicare data, mainly in Stata (R acceptable).
Support qualitative data analysis of interview transcripts with Directors of Nursing.
Conduct literature reviews and synthesize prior research for manuscript sections.
Co-author and lead drafting of peer-reviewed manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations.
Prepare research reports, dissemination materials, and stakeholder communications.
Assist with grant proposals and progress reports as opportunities arise.
Participate in regular research meetings with the PI and project team.
